So, I finally broke down and upgraded my 4.5 to 5. I ignored the nag screens as long as I could. I installed 5 on top of 4.5 (realizing now that was a bad idea). It only started crashing after it indexed my 26K+ media files. Figuring it might have an issue with this, I removed that watch folder and asked it not to index, but it crashed again. Finally, I wiped it out completely, including the DB, ran ccleaner to wipe out the reg values and "trash", rebooted and reinstalled QMP5, but it still crashes. Here's my info:
SYSINFO Windows XP 5.1 32-bit Build 2600 CPU: AMD Phenom II Sound Device: Creative Audigy 2 Software Version: QMP 5 w/ Stock skin & no plugins CRASH MODULE: Module: QMPlayer.exe Image Base: 0x00400000 Time Stamp: 0x499ce5ce Signature: feef04bd StrucVer: 00010000 FileVer: (5.0:0.121) CRASH OUTPUT: AppName: qmplayer.exe AppVer: 5.0.0.121 ModName: unknown ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 03ed004a Modules in use at the time of crash: QCDMediaSaver.dll, QCDMediaSource.dll, QCDApe.dll, QCDPlaylists.dll, QCDID3.dll, QCDVorbis.dll, QCDWMA.dll, QCDMp3.dll, QCDWavOut.dll, QCDWav.dll, QCDDiskWriter.dll, QCDDSound.dll, DSound.dll, QCDLame.dll, QCDVisPak.dll, ... and a few other encoder dll's. Hope this helps! Also note that I was able to reproduce this issue on my wife's computer (upgrade from 4.5 to 5, index some 10K songs, and bingo, trashed QMP5). I like the new interface, I like the statistics the integrated DB spits out via the compiled SQL queries, but I just can not use it until I get it working on a machine correctly. Back to 4.5 I go... Anyone have any suggestions for making it run stable? --CoM |
